Track 04: Lashun Pace- I Know I’ve Been Changed

Lashun Pace.. WHEW. Talk about flat footed singing. Lashun Pace’s “I Know I’ve Been Changed” is much more than a gospel song , it’s a testimony of transformation. Please understand that Heaven is not a far away place, it’s something that we all carry inside of us. The lyrics remind us that redemption is always possible..regardless of how far we have strayed or what we’ve been through.

She starts off the song belting so beautifully, I Know I’ve Been Changed”. A heartfelt cry out that beginning of the song that sets the tone for the rest of this manifesto.

When she sings, “the angels in Heaven done signed my name,” I hear the truth that Heaven is not just a distant promise but a light already alive inside of us. It is a divine affirmation.. she’s declaring that her redemption is already apart of a divine plan and is already acknowledged and guaranteed. Belief and faith absolutely activates this promise.

The lyric “I stepped in the water and the water was cold, it chilled my body but not my soul” speaks to a strength that runs deeper than flesh. The body can be beaten and tired but the soul remains untouchable. That’s the kind of resilience this song calls forth in me.. a knowing that change is real, redemption is near, and that my soul cannot be drowned.

I wanna rewind and talk about Lashun’s voice again! So rich, powerful, and grounded. A voice that truly is rooted in spirit and refuses to move. That is more than just singing…that is living in it. Thank God for her gift and her legacy and may she rest in perfect peace!

I don’t know about you but my soul is still burning steady. And just like Lashun Pace sang with such conviction, I know I’ve been changed.
